ProjectConnections.com originally launched in 2000. I started the site, along with a great team of fellow project and technical managers, because we had been thrown into the role ourselves with basically no training or guidance – which seemed, well, kinda wrong, and pretty inefficient, too – and not a lot of fun. We wanted to do a great job! Lead our projects to success! But we had so many how-to questions…
So the site was born – with practical templates, guidelines, articles, a blog full of advice from fellow PMs, and other resources such as interviews and case studies. The goal was to answer the “real world” questions – get beyond theory to “no, really, how DO I do this, in THIS particular environment, this particular type of project, this organization and this team? What practical techniques do experienced PMs already know? What real world advice and tips would they give?”
The site was active through mid 2020. Unfortunately, for various reasons I had to make the decision to discontinue our service then. (I also had thoughts on bringing back a refreshed service after a hiatus, but life then transpired and we are highly unlikely to be back.)
Thanks for visiting, and if you have questions, or are looking for advice or something specific – please feel free to reach out and ask me. If I can help, I will! [email protected].
